Mickey Moonlight – Interplanetary Music

So Ed Banger Records signed a new artist a few weeks ago, a not French DJ/Producer, Mickey Moonlight from the UK. He is like no one else on Ed Banger and brings a level of intellecualism to the label. Mickey Moonlight’s first single is a cover of Sun Ra’s “Interplanetary Music” with the help of Zongamin, think spacey funk with sprinkles of 70s Krautrock. Late of the Pier says this is one of the best tracks to come out in the last few years.

BREAKBOT Remixes

I love Breakbot’s production style. It is so 70s sounding. His bass samples are so good and real sounding, they remind me of Fred Falke’s bass playing. Hall & Oates and Steely Dan would be proud of what Breakbot is doing.

This track could be the next D.A.N.C.E, with the little children singing and that funky piano part.
PNAU – Baby (Breakbot Remix)

This sounds like a Prince track.

Checkout his great remix of Late of the Pier’s “Bathroom Gurgle”.

Late of the Pier x Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve

And you thought the Klaxons were weird, meet Late of the Pier, Erol Alkan’s latest project. Erol Alkan is quite a versatile producer, first the Mystery Jets perfect pop sound and now this out of control sci-fi British punk funk disco pop. You maybe familiar with band member Samuel Eastgate’s side project, LA Priest that brought us all that great track “Engine” that Erol remixed last year. Late of the Pier, These New Puritans and Cazals are leading the wave of new British rock bands and I am quite excited 🙂
