Breakbot – Make You Mine

This new Breakbot tune has been making it rounds in the blogosphere, a track that was part of that Ed Banger Xmas Promo – definitely your typical Breakbot production style but with more of a Chromeo-esque synth pop vibe esp with the vocoder vox. I definitely see this whole disco synth pop sound being a big thing in Twenty-Ten with Classixx, Breakbot, Holy Ghost! and Chromeo leading the entire movement.

Justice Live @ Koko – Electric Proms – DJ Set – 10.25.2008 – BBC 6 Broadcast
Cheers to Maxim Condor for hooking this up 🙂
(The last 30 mins are Coldcut’s live set)

Here is a latest recording of Justice’s DJ sets from Electric Proms this past weekend as they promote A Cross the Universe. Strictly old school house and filter disco. No Bangers!! Except for their own of course. They even drop Daft Punk’s Face to Face and Crescendolls. Check out an interview with them here on the BBC 6 The Queens show, here. Xavier explains that they are done with the live performances after playing over 150 live gigs and that they are DJing now with “a laptop and a few of their small machines”.

Tracklist after the jump.

Mickey Moonlight – Interplanetary Music

So Ed Banger Records signed a new artist a few weeks ago, a not French DJ/Producer, Mickey Moonlight from the UK. He is like no one else on Ed Banger and brings a level of intellecualism to the label. Mickey Moonlight’s first single is a cover of Sun Ra’s “Interplanetary Music” with the help of Zongamin, think spacey funk with sprinkles of 70s Krautrock. Late of the Pier says this is one of the best tracks to come out in the last few years.
