David Byrne x Fatboy Slim x Santigold x Imelda Marcos

What does David Byrne, Fatboy Slim and Filipino shoe goddess Imelda Marcos have in common? Absolutely nothing, which is why Byrne and Mr. Cook collaborated to create this concept album “Here Love Lies” about the Iron Butterfly, Imelda. Byrne and Slim enlist Santigold to help tell the story of Imelda on this track “Please Don’t”. For more info on the concept album click here.

David Byrne & Brian Eno – Strange Overtones

Brian Eno is a genius and has redeemded himself with this track after producing Coldplay’s latest album, which should have been so much better for being Eno produced. David Byrne & Brian Eno are a unstoppable collaboration. I love the classic 808 sounds during the 2nd verse. Fantastic lyrics as well. This is such a great pop song and I keep listening to it over and over, it is making me quite happy 🙂

David Byrne digs Vampire Weekend
Oh, and I totally enjoy David Byrne’s subtle dissing of Animal Collective.
“Playing” mainly consisted of pushing faders up and down. To be fair, two of the three guys took turns singing, though I couldn’t make out any of the words; so yes, there was more to focus on than just faders moving.”
Now that is how a gentlemen drinks his haterade.

Vampire Weekend – Mansard Roof
Vampire Weekend has often been compared to the Talking Heads so no wonder why he likes their sound.

Talking Heads – Born Under the Punches (The Heat Goes On)
Adrian Belew from King Crimson plays lead guitar on this track.

Talking Heads – This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)
This Talking Heads track is one of my top 10 fav songs of all time.

Klaxons – No Diggity (Blackstreet Cover)
