Cortini never fails to deliver with his expansive and spacey brand of ambient. Somehow he is able to soothe and also conjure tense emotions at the same time. The title of his track “Chiaroscuro” no doubt confirms this duality that he is so good at crystalizing in his music.
This collaboration between Daniel Avery & Alessandro Cortini continues to be fruitful and ever evolving into a beautiful and chaotic mess. “Baresi” was created during the same sessions as “Illusion of Time” and is a simple cascading arrangement of synths that morph and twist into crashing waves of sound that soothe you.
“Dietrofront” is a collaboration between the two Italian electronic musicians, Matteo Vallecelli and Alessandrio Cortini. A meditative and beautiful synth pop song that swells and sloshes in your mind. Angelo Badalamenti would approve of this song.
Alessandro Cortini is a master of pulling minimal and beautiful arrangements out his rare synth collection. “Spettri” utilizes his Buchla 151 and is a perfect example of how he can breathe life into these machines in a live setting.
