Jamie XX – Far Nearer
Jamie xx is set to release a calypso infused single that would make James Blake, Joy Orbison, Mount Kimbie and Burial proud. At first I thought the steel drums were kind of a novelty/cheesy thing to do on this track but after a few listens it is great. A perfect track to play at the end of a late night set. It is also quite exciting that this 12″ is coming out on Numbers Records.

The XX x Tiga
A very bittersweet and trudging remix by Tiga who strips down “Shelter” down to its bare bones. Thus creating a hypnotic and deep track perfect for those after-afterparties.
A few words from Mr. Tiga himself:
“There’s just something special about making out in London, your mouth bursting with toffee and emotion, that ugly ferris wheel thing looming in the distance…This remix is a love letter to British Romance, from the heart of a Canadian Revolutionary.”

Florence + the Machine x The XX
The XX cover Florence + the Machine’s “You’ve Got the Love” – turning the tune into a sexy and sedated tune. I especially enjoy what they did, chopping up Florence’s vocals. I am a huge fan of The XX’s new album and it is perfect for the autumn.
