An analog fever seems to be sweeping Australia with the Midnight Juggernauts moving into a warmer/psychedlic realm and the stoner rockers, Tame Impala making big moves around the world. Cut Copy follows suit and return with “Where I’m Going” – a very 70s tinged pop rock tune featuring Gary Glitter “Rock and Roll Part 2″ Schaeffel Beat drums and over the top kids screaming “Yeah! Yeah!”. Next up is Van She, let’s see what they come up with next.

I might as well turn my blog into “Asian Dan Loves Australian Music” Blog. With “The Crystal Axis” almost upon us, 5.28.2010 be exact – the Juggernaut trio has provided us with some great remixes. One by KIM of The Presets, a dark house jam that oozes with Oceania pride. A dark psycho-delic spiral into the dancefloor vortex, just give in and dance. Be on the lookout for the Holy Trinity of remixes of “Vital Signs” by each member of the band, Vin, Andy, and Daniel, a sort of alternate ending as told by each member.
Check out the music video for “Vital Signs” – here.

Midnight Juggernauts return to this forever changing synth laden musical landscape with a futuristic sound that has been dipped in 60s psychedelia. They channel Giorgio Moroder but thinkGiorgio Moroder “Tears” pre-sequenced basslines. More organs and mellotrons than digital sounding synths. And more stoner/shoegaze guitars. Overall Midnight Juggenauts showcases how they are still a band that are out to explore and highlight their organic songwriting/musical side. “The Crystal Axis” is set to penetrate our psyches 5.28.2010.

Shoegazey, 70s tinged, stoner-synth rock via the one and only Midnight Juggernauts. “Vital Signs” is off their forthcoming album “The Crystal Axis” out 5.28.2010
Midnight Juggernauts are venturing to the promiseland, Uhmerica to bless us with their psycehedlic-synth sounds that they have been crafting and honing for the past few years. I feel like their latest track “This New Technology” is a conscious effort to say stray away from the to the whole electro/bloghaus/synth-rock genre they were trailblazing. They are now embracing their Prog Rock roots and the rock side of ELO instead of ELO circa “Time” in the 80s with a touch of Fleetwood Mac and a heavy dose of Mellotron.
Memory Tapes and The Juan MacLean bring Midnight Juggernauts back to their electro-rock roots with these remixes of “This New Technology”. Memory Tapes’ remix is very different from his usual chilled out lo-fi productions – showcasing his bangertastic side. Check them both out below as well as the B-side to the “This New Technology” Single.

I was very impressed when I heard this track, “Synthétiseur” off of Housse de Racket’salbum Forty One. It is a mixture of Phoenix’s rock soundwith some of Sebastien Tellier and Midnight Juggernauts synth pop sound.
