Thom Yorke channels his inner David Byrne in “Stop Making Sense” to recreate Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” music video.
Space Dimension Controller is set to unleash his brand of Galactic-Funk on March 4 via R&S Records entitled “Welcome to Mikrosector-50″. The title tune is a full on new jack swing funk taken into hyperspace, quite a refreshing take on the funk genre that often is looked upon as a novelty sound to touch upon.
Phoenix unleashes the electrifying first single “Entertainment” off of their new album “Bankrupt!” out in April. It is a full-on Pop tune that sounds like every tune of theirs played at once, in the best way possible. There are swarming guitars, pounding floor toms, a very “eastern” sounding lead line that channels the energy and vibe of the Buggles and their haunted Thriller mixing board. It is a track that will satisfy everyone.
Cashmere Cat is on a roll these days, with him producing for Jeremih, putting out a remix EP with Ed Banger and just over all destroying it in the production and DJ game – it is just a matter of time before this young Norwegian makes a larger mark in the Pop music landscape. “Aurora” is his latest personal production that is out on his home label, Pelican Fly on the Feathers EP compilation which also features new tracks from label mates like Sinjin Hawke’s “Prom Nite”. Hudson Mohawke graced us this Valentine’s with his SlowJams VI mix which included some gems such as Jaco Pastorius “Portrait of Tracy” and Todd Rundgren “Marlene”. Today we are presented with his massive remix of Disclosure’s “White Noise”. It is a proper take on futuristic music and how exciting music can really be in the year 2013.

Prepare to dive into the deep end of #feels but don’t worry cause Mr. Catchdubs is the lifeguard on duty. Nick Catchdubs strikes back with the “Emotional Breakdance Music” mix entitled “Icy Grape” a proper follow up to my favorite “Crystal Park” mix. Bump it on this Valentimes day.

Julio Bashmore transforms the, safe and mediocre return of Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” into a full out 90s club jam. Julio throws in those beloved house organ chord stabs and a heavy swing drum pattern and takes the Justin’s hook (the only decent part of “Suit & Tie”) into full fledged house vibes territory.
