1. Who is Luca C?
Luca C.(Luc Lazac/Luca SS/luca cazal), is an Italian born, London based Musician/dj/producer

2. What draws you to DJing that playing in Cazals does not fulfill?
I think it’s all part of the same thing, Making music, entertaining yourself and other people, meeting people etc. etc.

3. How do you feel about this blurring of the genres and how electronic and rock music is feeding off each other?
I think it’s a very natural thing, it’s been happening since the 80’s, music is music, it’s not about genres, i don’t think that if you play electric guitar you can’t be into synths or vice versa.

4. What are your top 5 songs that make you dance?

I’m not sure, you should ask Martin (Dubka) about that, he’s the official Cazals remixer..D.P remixing poor innocent boys? that would be Sick!

6. Who are your favorite DJs/Producers?
Producers in no particular order: Giorgio Moroder, Bobby Orlando, Dubka, Sebastian, Junjo Lawes.

7. What have you been listening to lately? What do you feel is going to be the next big thing? What are your biggest influences?

8. Future plans for Luca C? Any remixes or productions of your own?
Yeah, I’m working on an ep at the moment, but i can’t really say much, it’s me, a really good friend of mine who i can’t name and it’s produced by Dubka and, as you can imagine it’s full of Synths and other cool machines.
I promise, you’ll be one of the first ones to hear it.

Foamo - Moving It Over Here
Foamo kills it. I just heard “Moving It Over Here” the other day and was blown away. I have heard MSTRKRFT drop this numerous times live and it is a total dancefloor killer, complete with a Crooker-esque bassline and a vox sample that everyone will sing along to. And this kid is only 21 and was sought out by JFK himself!

‘Rockerman’ was dropped by Crookers on their recent essential mix for Radio 1 and sees Foamo displaying his production versatility on this house / dubstep fusion. Perfect for adding a bit of spice and unpredictability to a set and still with enough oomph to get the crowd skanking!

Label owner Lee Mortimer adds a more straight-up house vibe to his remix of ‘Rockerman’ supplying the 4/4 beats.”

Justice did a mix for the latest Dior Homme Spring Summer 09 fashion show in Paris, just like Daft Punk did a year or so ago for Louis Vuitton. They dropped a new track. Classic Justice sound, epic piano chords, distorted arppegiated harpsichord, super compressed drums, filtered out synth, all the proper elements of a Justice track. Reminds me of Rondo Veneziano or Yellow Magic Orchestra with some SebastiAn elements. Any info on this would be great. Thoughts?
There is a full vid of the fashion show in the site that features the entire track Justice made for the show. Herve “Musicman” Pouliquen plays guitar on the track. “Daryl Hall’s free web-show, Live From Daryl’s House, has become a destination for music fans seeking the latest in up-and-coming artists. The 10th edition, which can be seen on www.livefromdarylshouse.com, starting August 15, will feature highly touted, two-man Canadian electrofunk outfit Chromeo.

The Montreal-based pair is made up of Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) on guitar and vocals and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) on keyboards, synthesizers and talk box. They’ve released two albums, including 2004’s She’s In Control and 2007’s Fancy Footwork, both on prestigious indie label Vice. The band was named MTV’s Artist of the Week in Oct. 2007. The set included a pair of Daryl Hall & John Oates hits, “Family Man” and “Adult Education” as well as Chromeo songs, “Tenderoni” and “Waiting 4 U””

Daniel from Cazals sent me this cover of Digital Love that they played live on Radio 1 for the BBC a few years ago. Daniel feels it is a weak cover but I think that it is a great “rock” cover of this tune. They even nail the raging guitar solo at the end. Goes to show you how well Daft Punk’s songwriting is and that their music translates well into any genre. God bless Daft Punk.
