Erol Alkan included Mount Kimbie in a mixtape for XLR8R as one of his current favourite tracks of the moment. Mount Kimbie is a London based duo that produce simple, minimal thoughful tunes that are very visual. They evoke rainy images of the UK but in a very epic and hopeful way not like Burial’s dark, melancholy way. There are also a few moments that are reminiscent of Prefuse 73/Savath & Savalas. Speaking of Burial, his collab with Four Tet is amazing. Wolf Cub / Moth via GvB

RAMPAGE is a Chicago based DJ/Producer that is bringing back some attitude and energy back into the Chicago scene. I love that “organ” synth sound, reminds me of Robin S’ “Show Me Love”.

Nighty Max brings us all more of his epic/feel-good production style with this track “Flannel Tent”. I love the drums and the guitar part.

Mayer Hawthrone cleans up quite well. This tune is a lot more polished and has that modernized R&B sound, not as gritty as “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out” but still as good. Stones Throw can do no wrong.
